Twitter has a rocky relationship with developers. It is no big secret, in fact we have touched on the issue several times in the past and have gone into detail about what went wrong with developers and how.
Social media gets a bad rep and its not for everyone. My father has no social media account anywhere, no Facebook, Twitter, Instagram…not one and he is perfectly happy. There is however increasing amounts of press which link social media to depression, anxiety, mental health problems and more.
It is no big secret at this stage, people struggle with Twitter. I haven’t talked about Twitter all that much recently because I care a lot less for the service now than I did at one point.
Say what you like about Instagram and their blatant rip off from Snapchat. Continue to blast them on Twitter for being copycats if you will, however the simple facts can’t be ignored. You might want to stay a Snapchat purist and never want to jump ship but the reality is that Instagram is winning where it matters.
Everyone talks about competition in the market place at some point. Who are we up against, who are we trying to beat, who are we comparing ourselves to and so on. I like to look at things a different way, there is no competition – the only competition I have is myself.
Let me start by saying this, despite all the hype and the soaring numbers of people signing up over the past week – I don’t think Mastodon is the answer, not at the moment anyway and I will get into more details about that later in this blog post.
I’m done with sharing content on LinkedIn, for the past number of months I have been consistently sharing two posts each weekday on LinkedIn but from Monday I am not sharing anything there anymore. In fact I am also deleting the app from my phone and while my profile will remain, it will be untouched…but why?
